The Mayor of Şişli, Şahan, would have opened another city restaurant in the Paşa neighborhood if he had not been arrested. At the City Restaurants, four types of meals are 40 TL.

The detained Mayor of Şişli, Resul Şahan, paid all the bills at the opening of the City Restaurants, which have been closed for about 20 days due to the appointment of a trustee. Resul Şahan, who was detained in the same operation as Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (IMM) Mayor Ekrem İmamoğlu, was arrested on terrorism charges in an investigation launched within the framework of the 'city consensus' implemented in the local elections on March 31, 2024. On March 24, the Ministry of Interior announced that Şişli District Governor Cevdet Ertürkmen had been appointed in place of Şahan. The very next day, it was claimed that Ertürkmen closed the City Restaurants in the district. İsmail Arı from Birgün Newspaper also reported that the truck used by the municipality as a mobile city restaurant was towed to the municipal garage. However, the Disinformation Combat Center (DMM) affiliated with the Presidency of Communications denied this claim. DMM's statement was as follows: "The claim that the trustee administration in Şişli Municipality has decided to close the City Restaurants, which is reported in some media outlets, is not correct. There has been no such decision by Şişli District Governor and Acting Mayor Cevdet Ertürkmen. All municipal activities, including the city restaurants in Şişli, continue within the framework of protecting the public good. Do not pay attention to baseless claims aimed at manipulating public opinion." However, despite this denial, the restaurants remained closed for two weeks. After the reactions, the restaurants in Şişli reopened on Monday. Images of citizens eating at the restaurant were also shared on the municipality's social media account. The detained mayor, Şahan, stated that he paid the bills today. Şahan's statement was as follows: "Every plate in our City Restaurants is a part of our brotherhood and solidarity. When I heard that it opened today, I wanted to pay for all the meals on your behalf with my mayor's salary. City Restaurants are not a favor; they are the right of the people. Heartfelt greetings to all who defend this right. With love." If Şahan had not been arrested, he would have opened another city restaurant in the Paşa neighborhood.
